CRGH Review – Is the Centre for Reproductive & Genetic Health Worth It for Egg Freezing?
I had high hopes going into my consultation at CRGH — the clinic has a sleek brand, central London location, and strong reputation. They promote themselves as one of the UK's leading fertility centres, offering personalized care and advanced reproductive science.
But after starting the process, I walked away feeling... less sure.
Here’s my honest review of CRGH’s approach to egg freezing, what I experienced, and what you might want to know before booking.
First Impressions
The registration process at CRGH is thorough — which is both a strength and a pain point. After filling out multiple forms, sending test results, and confirming details (like passport numbers and marital status), I was finally booked for a consultation.
When I did have my appointment with Dr. Saab, I appreciated that he took my thyroid results seriously and advised addressing that before starting any treatment. That gave me confidence in their medical approach — they weren’t rushing me into a cycle.
But… getting answers to basic follow-up questions after the consultation was not so easy.
Communication Gaps
After my appointment, I emailed a few key questions — things like:
What happens if my eggs are destroyed before use?
Can I use my frozen eggs if I do IVF on the NHS?
What’s the cost of thawing and transfer later?
How much would multiple transfers cost?
These are important questions — and I was surprised they weren’t addressed during or immediately after my consultation. It took multiple emails (and some unanswered ones) to even try to get a reply.
For a clinic that charges premium prices, I expected clearer post-consultation support.
What Does It Cost?
CRGH is not the cheapest — in fact, it’s one of the most expensive fertility clinics in London. While they don’t hide their prices, getting an all-in figure is tricky. Here’s what I learned:
Egg freezing cycle: Often starts at £3,500–£4,000, but does not include medication, scans, or storage.
Medication: Can add £500–£1,500+ depending on your protocol.
Annual storage fees: Apply after the first year.
Thaw and transfer later on: Not included in initial price — and no quote was given when I asked.
That means the real cost of egg freezing with CRGH could easily exceed £6,000–£8,000+, especially if you require more than one cycle or plan to use the eggs later for IVF.
Clinical Approach
From a medical standpoint, CRGH does seem highly specialised. They review things like thyroid health and AMH before starting, which made me feel like I wasn’t being rushed into unnecessary treatment.
However, they don’t appear to offer lower-stimulation or “mild” IVF options — which some women prefer to reduce hormone load. If you’re looking for a natural or minimal drug approach, clinics like CREATE or abc ivf might be a better fit.
Who CRGH Might Be Right For
CRGH could be ideal if:
You want extensive testing before treatment
You need a clinic with experience in complex fertility cases
You’re planning to do IVF using donor eggs or sperm
You value being in central London and don’t mind paying more
It may not be the best fit if:
You’re looking for a budget-friendly or first-time egg freeze
You want clear, fast answers and strong aftercare
You prefer a smaller clinic where you’re more than a patient number
🔍 Questions to Ask Before Choosing CRGH
If you’re considering this clinic, make sure to ask:
What’s included in the egg freezing package — and what isn’t?
What happens if I want to transfer my eggs elsewhere?
Can I use my eggs later via the NHS (and how)?
What are the success rates for women my age?
How quickly can I get answers if I have follow-up questions?
Final Thoughts
CRGH isn’t a bad clinic — far from it. It’s clearly a leading fertility centre with top specialists and a wealth of experience. But my experience felt overly admin-heavy and a bit impersonal once the consultation was over.
If you’re looking for a medical deep dive, have a complex case, or want a clinic with all the bells and whistles, CRGH could be a solid choice. Just be prepared to follow up yourself — and brace for premium pricing with unclear aftercare.
